Dronninglund Castle

Close to Aalborg is this fantastic castle, which is clearly characterized by several different time periods, which gives a uniqueness that is not seen anywhere else. The ground floor of the Renaissance castle dates from 1580 and here the vaulted ceilings and thick outer walls adorn the castle, while the Baroque has left its mark on other parts of Dronninglund Castle during the time of Count A.G. Moltke. The tower room is decorated with a fireplace of Greenlandic soapstone, while the dining room is covered with beautifully woven silk wallpaper. In this way, several of the castle’s previous owners have put their own very specific mark on the castle, which is still preserved to this day.

At Dronninglund Castle you will find a modern course centre with all the equipment and facilities necessary for holding meetings and conferences, but the modernisation of the castle has been done with an eye to maintaining the historic setting.

The castle’s restaurant is decorated with hunting trophies, which help to spread the atmosphere at the castle and if you move down into the Great Hall, you will find a room that is particularly suitable for events due to the room’s special acoustics. Here, the vaulted ceilings really make the medieval atmosphere creep under the skin.

The facilities in the restaurant at Dronninglund Castle are particularly suitable for hosting The Merry Inn, where both good food and entertainment are in focus. At this event, participants will become guests at our Midgaard inn and the medieval atmosphere at the castle will form the perfect setting for the event. The Merry Inn is intended as a supplement to our adventure game and here Ad Gandalfs Veje will easily be able to take place in Dronninglund Castle’s surrounding park and forest.

Dronninglund Castle can thus offer beautiful surroundings with everything from light vaults to ceiling paintings. The many decorated halls and rooms provide opportunities for both unfolding and contemplation.
