You are the crew aboard the spaceship Artemis. Together, you must fly and operate the spaceship and complete space missions. This requires coordination, situational awareness, and effective communication. The game is entertaining, but also educational and developmental in terms of teamwork.
You are on the bridge of the spaceship Artemis, and each of you has essential functions on the ship, such as pilot, navigator, communications, engineer, weapons officer, and captain. Through teamwork, you must operate the spaceship and complete missions.
The entire event is expertly facilitated by our instructor, who briefs you on functions and missions, but once the mission has started, it is up to you to perform together. Missions may, for example, involve delivering important cargo to a space base, but the usual route is disrupted by a black hole and you must now navigate through hazardous areas; or a mission may be to defeat hostile spacecraft enforcing a blockade around a planet.
Physically, we transform your meeting room into the command bridge of the spaceship Artemis, where a projector shows the view from the ship, and we set up stations and spaceship computers for each function, from which each role can control their part of the ship. It can be compared to a large computer game, but here the effects are high-end, and the functions and missions are designed to enhance communication and teamwork.
Starship Explorer is suitable for INDOOR TEAM BUILDING and ENTERTAINMENT, and is run, for example, in meeting rooms or similar spaces. There should be a couple of tables available and chairs for all participants. If a projector and screen are already available, we are happy to use them; otherwise, we will bring our own.
One spaceship is suitable for up to 6 players. For larger groups, we set up multiple spaceships, and there can also be a cross-functional headquarters coordinating missions for up to 3 spaceships. This allows up to 21 people to take part.
You can play Starship Explorer as an entertaining team building experience of approx. 3 hours, but you can also run the game as part of a workshop with TEAM DEVELOPMENT, where you gain learning about teamwork and communication. The event is tailored to your needs and combines presentations with gameplay in the spaceship and reflection.
The workshop is ideal for smaller departments or leadership teams
who want to develop their teamwork skills.
